From The Days Before “Spoiler Warnings”

Wait, I want a script change!

I am a fan of old pulp-style adventure, and I’ve always viewed “King Kong” to be one of the greatest pulp-style adventure movies of all time. I was curious about what the original reviews were like when “Kong” opened in 1933, so I did some research.

Apparently, they weren’t too worried about spoilers, as this Time magazine review from the Monday, Mar. 13, 1933 issue demonstrates.

Wonder what else reviews of the era would reveal about the movies? I’m sure out there somewhere is a review of “Citizen Kane” with the heading “If you see one movie about a sled this year, then this is it!!!”
